First time Dylan used electric guitar in his music, on "Ballad of a thin man" Dylan is playing lead piano in minor key. When he started playing electric guitar a lot of fans were not happy. When I first heard this in 1966 I took as a reference to politics at that time.....

Pretty sure “40,000 men and women every day” is meant to be a reference to how often people die, not how often people fall in love.

Hey SyedRewinds. It's always good to see preconceived notions about metal music turn around, so glad to see you enjoyed this track. May I suggest you please react to the band Death? Either the song "Pull the Plug" or "Left to Die". Death is a band that helped birth and shape a new metal genre (death metal) after thrash metal (Metallica, Megadeth). The band leader was a great musician and composer, I think you might find them interesting and different.

The Beatles listened to Dylan’s music and were influenced, inspired and challenged by it. He turned them on, both figuratively and literally.

Randy Meisner's voice was truly special. It truly was the Eagle's crown. Gorgeous. The lyrics poetic and the music is lush, feelings being brought forth so vulnerable. Incredible.

Yeah, Welcome to the Machine, and Have a Cigar are absolutely Pink Floyd's version of what the Eagles were talking about with Hotel California, and Life in the Fast Lane. I particularly love that line, 'if we all pull together as a team', coming from some record company executive who is adding precisely nothing to the music he's so excited to sell.

Beach Boys music is far, far more advanced than any of the music that you listed. The instruments are real. The singing is done without pitch correction. Welcome to the musical world Syed. The Beatles tried to copy the Beach Boys. They had about 50 big hits... mostly written and produced by Brian Wilson. The album Pet Sounds is rated #1 by many publications. Rolling Stone has it at #2 behind Marvin Gaye's 'What's Goin On.' The album belongs there. It has several hits on it... but the deeper album cuts are what make it special. The Beach Boys song library is worth over 100 million. Look far beyond their early car and surfin hits. When the band stopped producing those kind of songs... Capitol Records basically abandoned them and didn't promote them. They really didn't like Good Vibrations. When they were in their prime... they could have done 3 concerts in one night without repeating one song. That's how massive their library is. The road band created a harder edge so that they could play to stadiums. Brian Wilson had to stop touring because of health issues so he stayed at home and wrote and produced all of the music. He called the road band 'the messengers.' His brother Carl is the lead singer on Good Vibrations and sounds quite a bit like Brian. A little more mellow. The music carried them through several phases of their careers. There is a band that is still called the Beach Boys... but it's only Mike Love and Bruce Johnston. Kind of a tribute type of sound. But people still come out to hear them because of the richness of the music. It's not just the harmonies for me. The melodies are rich. The instrumentation is rich. The songs are very emotional. They simply are America's band.

Ringo has a great interview on YT where he talks about playing the incredibly loud venues. He said he would watch John's backside for the rhythm, because John would just stand there, feet shoulder width, and bounce up and down on his toes in time to the music. Later in the songs, Paul would usually throw in a "Woooooo!" and Ringo would think to himself, "Oh, that's where we are!". Hysterical!

Tip for getting more subscribers: I didn't hear a word you said when you stopped in the middle of the song, because I fast forwarded past it. Don't interrupt the song. Save your impressions for the end. Remember, your viewers are people who already know the music, and without having established any credibility, you interrupt the song and your viewers have the feeling you don't respect the music. Wait until the end. Otherwise, this was an ok reaction video. But remember: I didn't even hear your observations during the song. All the best reactors wait until the end.

Punk had to happen, it was the result of the political situation going on at the time ,no job, no money, strikes all over the place, inflation was sky high, power cut in shops, few hours of electricity per day at home, rats running all around the place among 10 foot high rubbish. And on the other site The scroungers Royals were celebrating the Jubilee of the queen for being on the throne for 25 years when the whole country was in crisis. Punks were everywhere at the time and so were the skinheads and all sorts of anti-Punk twats. I was a punk in the 80's,the original meaning of punk had gone, but it's legacy is still around. Punkx never dies You can see Nancy R.I.P, Debie Juvenile R.I.P, Jordan R.I.P, Siouxsie sioux, Steve severin,Tracie R.I.P, Soo catwoman,Helen Of Troy, Vivienne Westwood RI.P ,Malcolm McLaren R.I.P.

Glad you got the chance to do this live version of No Quarter. The Tolkein angle to the lyrics is interesting, however I liked your interpretation based on the Norse Mythology. Maybe it's because it closely matches my own feelings since I first listened to the studio track. One thing about live vs. Studio versions, does the tempo of Page's haunting riff seem slightly slower on the live performance? It doesn't really take anything away from it, it's still amazing.

I have to say that your reactions are far more than someone listening to great music. The depth to which you analyze lyrics, tempo, and atmosphere of a piece of music is truly amazing. I think we all were awestruck when we first heard this track many years ago, and we dove deeper into it with every hearing of it. You have picked up on this aspect on your first listen. Other reactions only glaze the surface. They don't realize the depth of musical genius that went into creating it. Thank you for putting out a mature and informative product. So refreshing.

Chris Cornell wrote the lyrics of this song, which was common for him, whether it was Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, abd his solo career, the man was a poet, so he had a way with words so he wrote so many songs, and wrote for other artists too, was also a compuser...
